WHEN THE ACCOUNT OUTGROWS THE SETUP
Your brand evolved.
Your flows should, too.
A few automated emails can cover the basics. A connected lifecycle programme gives every stage of the relationship a useful next step.
01 / COVERAGE
The journey stops at checkout.
Welcome and abandonment are live, but onboarding, product education and the second purchase get little attention.
02 / RELEVANCE
Different customers get the same message.
A first-time buyer, a subscriber and a loyal customer need different follow-up. Generic timing and copy miss those differences.
03 / FOUNDATIONS
More sends aren’t solving the gaps.
Overlapping journeys, stale creative or unclear filters can hold the programme back. The account needs a plan before more volume.
STRATEGY BEFORE PRODUCTION
Build what matters first.
Know why it comes next.
A missing flow is a candidate, not an automatic priority. We connect the account diagnosis to customer needs, commercial value and the evidence available.
01 / UNDERSTAND
Find the real bottleneck.
Review your product economics, purchase cycles, first-to-second purchase behaviour, customer research and existing journey performance. Separate a missing message from a data problem, a delivery issue or a product experience that messaging cannot fix.
02 / RANK
Agree the order of work.
Compare eligible audience size, value of the customer action, the current performance gap, evidence and confidence. Weigh that against effort, dependencies and time to learn. The priority is the strongest justified opportunity, not the longest flow list.
03 / ARCHITECT
Give every message a job.
Map the trigger, audience, customer question, next action, channel, timing and success measure. Define entry and re-entry rules, purchase exits, exclusions and handoffs so welcome, recovery, post-purchase and campaigns work as one programme.
04 / LEARN
Launch, measure, reprioritise.
Build a 90-day architecture map and launch sequence, with owners, dependencies and a testing backlog. Compare results with the agreed baseline and revisit priorities as eligible volume, trading conditions and customer behaviour change.
What can move to the top of the roadmap?
Fix the foundations first
Broken events, failed purchase exits, overlapping messages or sending problems can make a new journey ineffective. Resolve those dependencies before increasing activity.
Recover clear purchase intent
Healthy tracking, enough cart or checkout activity and weak existing follow-up can justify recovery work early. Improve the customer answer and timing before defaulting to a larger discount.
Earn the second purchase
If customers buy once and lapse, product education, delivery-aware onboarding and the next relevant product may deserve priority over another acquisition sequence.
Develop specialist opportunities
A fashion launch may make back-in-stock or fit and care education timely. A consumable may favour replenishment. Loyalty, advocacy, direct mail and low-volume journeys follow when the prerequisites and economics justify them.
These are decision examples. Your account determines the sequence; the checklist does not prescribe a fixed number of messages or the same build for every brand.
A shared definition of success.
Before launch, agree the business outcome, baseline, reporting window and attribution settings. Pair journey conversion and revenue per recipient or delivery with repeat purchase, time to next order and customer value. Monitor unsubscribes, complaints, discount cost and margin as guardrails. Where volume and scope allow, use a holdout to test incremental impact.
Each priority has an owner, a target or test hypothesis, and a review date. Tracked Klaviyo revenue is a reporting signal; it does not by itself prove incremental growth.
WHAT WE REBUILD
The customer journey.
From first interest to next order.
Our Klaviyo Health Check reviews 24 flow families across the customer lifecycle. We assess the full inventory, then agree which journeys to keep, improve, rebuild or add. The flow map, message count and integration work are scoped before the build.
01
Before the first purchase
-
Welcome. Connect the signup promise, customer preferences and product discovery to a useful first-purchase sequence.
-
Back in stock. Follow up on expressed product interest when an item or variant becomes available.
-
Low-inventory alerts. Use reliable stock data and genuine relevance to notify interested customers before an item sells out.
-
Price-drop alerts. Reach eligible customers when a product they considered changes price, with promotion and margin controls.
-
Offline-to-online nurture. Turn a consented event or QR-code signup into context-specific education and a next step online.
02
Recover an unfinished purchase
-
Site abandonment. Follow up with eligible identified visitors where tracking and consent support a useful message.
-
Browse abandonment. Use the viewed product or category to address questions and support discovery.
-
Abandoned cart. Respond to cart intent with relevant products, objections and an appropriate incentive policy.
-
Abandoned checkout. Help customers complete checkout, with purchase exits and suppression across the recovery journeys.
03
After the order: adoption, repeat purchase and advocacy
-
Order and shipping confirmations. Map transactional communications and useful expectations, with clear ownership across Klaviyo, the store and fulfilment tools.
-
Post-delivery nurture and cross-sell. Time product education, care, customer surveys and relevant next-product recommendations around delivery and actual use.
-
Loyalty and membership. Connect joining, earning, redeeming and progressing through the programme.
-
Birthday and customer anniversary. Recognise meaningful dates when the customer has shared the data and the message fits the relationship.
-
Review requests. Ask after a realistic experience window and coordinate timing with support, returns and review tools.
-
Product replenishment. Use product consumption and purchase history to time reminders customers can act on.
-
Predicted next order. Use eligible predictive data to test a more relevant reorder window.
-
UGC collection. Invite customers to share product experiences, with a clear submission route and permissions process.
-
Purchase anniversaries. Reconnect around the anniversary of a meaningful purchase or customer relationship.
-
Spend and purchase milestones. Recognise cumulative value or progress toward an agreed reward without training every purchase to need a discount.
-
Affiliate invitations. Invite suitable customers into an existing affiliate programme with clear eligibility and next steps.
-
Influencer invitations. Route relevant advocates into an existing creator programme rather than broadcasting the same invitation to everyone.
-
Always-on direct mail. Coordinate postcards, surprise-and-delight or club invitations with the lifecycle when the economics and integration support them.
04
Lapse, returns and relationship recovery
-
Lapsed-customer winback. Define lapse using the product and buying cycle, then tailor reasons to return for first-time, repeat and high-value customers.
-
Returns and refunds. Coordinate return confirmations, refund expectations and helpful follow-up. Pause unsuitable promotional messages while an issue is unresolved.

IS THIS THE RIGHT FIT?
For brands ready to
build the backend
with intention.
The rebuild is for ecommerce teams with an established product, an active customer base and the appetite to make the lifecycle work harder.
You sell through your own store.
You want to turn the customer relationships you already have into stronger repeat purchase and customer value.
02
Your account has outgrown the basics.
You have flows that need a rebuild, missing lifecycle stages or a growing brand with little structure behind the channel.
03
Your team can collaborate on the work.
We need access, brand and product knowledge, and a clear approval rhythm to build a programme that fits the business.
04
You care about the next purchase.
You want useful customer journeys and relevant messaging, with performance measured against an agreed starting point.
BEFORE WE START
Your questions.
Clear answers.
Scope, investment, delivery and ownership are agreed before the build. The consultation helps us understand what your account needs.
Is this a one-time project or ongoing management?
The flow rebuild is a focused project with an agreed scope. Ongoing campaign management and optimisation are a separate engagement if you want a team to operate the programme after launch.
What does the rebuild cost?
Flow build and rebuild projects typically range from $15,000 to $25,000 USD. Scope depends on journey complexity, audience variations, markets, integrations and creative requirements. The full Health Check inventory informs the plan; the proposal confirms the included flows, messages, price and payment schedule before work starts. See our ongoing partnership options for continued management.
How long does the rebuild take?
We agree the launch sequence and timeline after the account review. The highest-priority journeys come first; the full programme depends on the scope, integrations, access and your approval rhythm.
What if we already have flows running?
We start with what you have: keep what works, identify gaps and decide which journeys need an update or a full rebuild. The plan also covers overlaps, filters and how existing customers move through the system.
How many flows and emails are included?
We review all 24 Health Check flow families, then agree the relevant journeys, audience variations and message count for your brand. Some flows are retained or improved, some rebuilt, and some deferred because the audience, data or commercial case is not ready. The proposal lists the deliverables; a review of the full inventory does not mean every flow is included in every project.
Will the creative match our brand?
Yes. We develop copy and design around your positioning, products and customer needs. Your team reviews the creative direction and messages before they go live.
How do you measure performance?
We set KPIs together before the build: a business outcome, journey measures, baseline, comparison period and guardrails for deliverability, customer experience and margin. The roadmap links each priority to its measure and review date. We review tracked flow revenue and conversion alongside repeat purchase and customer behaviour; holdout testing can help assess incremental impact where feasible.
What happens after launch?
You receive the agreed live journeys and documentation in your own account. We discuss the next testing priorities and can scope ongoing optimisation and campaigns if you need continued support.
