LIFECYCLE CASE STUDY
Putting a new email engine in place.
Goldwing Parts’ one-off flow project brought its lifecycle work into Klaviyo, with launch status tracked separately for core emails, welcome, reviews and back-in-stock.

LIFECYCLE CASE STUDY
Three decisions behind the work.
Delivery milestone: September 2025
01 · THE CONTEXT
The starting point
The migration brief covered the familiar shopping journey: welcome, cart and checkout, post-purchase, site and browse abandonment, and winback. Each part still depended on the right store events and supporting tools.
02 · THE WORK
The decisions behind the journey.
Define the migration scope
The July brief set out a move from Brevo to Klaviyo and a foundational set of flows. Creative was reviewed with the client before implementation.
Launch the available emails
On 30 September, the delivery update confirmed Goldwing emails were live in Klaviyo. The Alia pop-up and welcome activation were still being finalised.
Separate the remaining dependencies
Review-request discounts, back-in-stock set-up and possible transactional overlap required additional client checks. They were not treated as completed merely because the core emails were live.
INSIDE THE DECISIONS
Move the customer journey, not just the email files.
Goldwing Parts’ Brevo-to-Klaviyo brief covered welcome, shopping recovery, post-purchase and winback. The September milestone confirmed live emails, but the popup and welcome activation still had follow-up requirements. That distinction makes a migration record more useful than one broad statement that the account was finished.
A welcome route needs a functioning signup source; a review request may need an approved incentive; a back-in-stock message needs the corresponding product event. Those dependencies differ even when the emails share the same visual system. Track them next to the flow they affect.
Check what the store already sends.
The remaining review and transactional questions included possible overlap with other tools. For another parts retailer, follow a test signup, cart and order across both the store and the email platform. Confirm which message each system owns, what stops recovery after purchase and whether an offer can be redeemed at the destination.
Keep creative approval, account build and activation as separate handover states. Then evaluate the launched programme over a defined period before attaching a financial result to the migration. The supported outcome here is the live-email milestone and the specific remaining dependencies, rather than a claim that every planned journey was active on the same day.
03 · THE OUTCOME
What the work delivered.
The project reached a live-email milestone in September 2025. Welcome, review, back-in-stock and transactional items had distinct follow-up requirements. No account-wide growth claim is made from this delivery record.
WHAT TO APPLY
Take the lesson into your own programme.
Track status at journey level. One flow can be ready while another lacks a coupon, an event or an approved destination. A detailed handover prevents a broad “live” label from hiding those differences.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE WORK
What this case study shows.
How should a one-off Klaviyo build be handed over?
Goldwing Parts’ project moved lifecycle work into Klaviyo while tracking core email, welcome, review and back-in-stock launch status separately. A useful handover makes completed work, active journeys and outstanding dependencies visible. Do not treat the account as fully launched merely because a single flow or template has been approved.
What should be checked before switching off old email automations?
Map triggers, active recipients, consent status, exclusions and data dependencies. Confirm replacement journeys receive the expected events and send correctly, then plan the cutover around people already in progress. Monitor entries and duplicate sends afterwards. This is a practical migration checklist, not a claim that every listed check formed part of this project.
