LIFECYCLE CASE STUDY

Three decisions behind the work.

Delivery snapshot: 25 June 2025

01 · THE CONTEXT

The starting point

Different entry points required different follow-up. An introductory purchase, a training programme and an app membership could not all be served by the same onboarding sequence.

02 · THE WORK

The decisions behind the journey.

Separate the entry points

The June handover listed five live journeys: welcome, the FT1 funnel, introductory post-purchase, FT1 post-purchase and Infinity App post-purchase.

Plan campaigns around participation

The campaign plan covered events, content spotlights and app messages, with an established cadence that could increase around launches.

Use engagement and clear handover status

The programme used engaged audiences and suppression groups. Cancellation, re-engagement, progress messages and an upsell test remained separate implementation tasks.

INSIDE THE DECISIONS

A purchase changes the next useful invitation.

Star Magic Healing’s January planning considered an introductory-course sequence that could branch towards the app, Nest or FT1. It also called for customers who bought during a sequence to move to the appropriate follow-up. These were proposed design decisions at that stage; the June handover separately establishes which five journeys were live.

The strategic point is the change in customer state. Someone considering a course needs an explanation of the next step. Someone who has already joined needs help beginning or continuing that experience. Continuing the original sales sequence after a purchase would ignore the most important new information in the relationship.

Make a complex programme maintainable.

The handover distinguished welcome, the FT1 funnel and separate introductory, FT1 and Infinity App post-purchase journeys. Naming and documenting those entry points gives the receiving team something more useful than a folder of approved emails: a map of why each message exists and which audience should enter it.

For a course or membership business, review entry conditions, purchase exits and suppression rules before adding another upsell. Campaigns can introduce events or content while onboarding supports participation. Assess completed business actions separately from email opens. The work described here concerns communication and implementation, not the effectiveness of the underlying health or spiritual service.

03 · THE OUTCOME

What the work delivered.

Five automated journeys were documented as live in HubSpot at handover. The case study covers communication design and implementation; it makes no health-outcome claim and no unverified commercial lift claim.

WHAT TO APPLY

Take the lesson into your own programme.

Organise onboarding around what someone joined or purchased. Keep the next useful action clear, and record unfinished journeys separately so the receiving team can maintain the programme.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE WORK

What this case study shows.

Can lifecycle email extend beyond an ecommerce checkout?

Star Magic Healing’s HubSpot programme connected welcome, course and app post-purchase journeys, supported by engagement-based campaign planning. For a course or membership business, the useful lifecycle includes participation and product use as well as purchase. Define those milestones before deciding which event should trigger each message.

How do you verify that an automated customer journey actually works?

Test the path from the source event to the intended recipient and destination. Check the payload, customer state, eligibility, missing-data fallback and link after the click. Record creative approval, activation and observed delivery separately. A live switch alone does not establish that the right people receive the right message.
