01 · THE CONTEXT
The starting point
The programme developed alongside a changing product and supply calendar. Monthly email results rose and fell with launch activity and campaign volume, making the individual decisions more useful than a smooth growth narrative.
THE CHALLENGE
Turn product interest into a useful next step.
Carnivore Snax had a distinctive product and an engaged community. The email challenge was to translate that interest into a clear customer journey: introduce a first-time subscriber to the brand, help an interrupted buyer return to checkout, and give existing customers a reason to try the next release.
The April 2022 welcome and abandoned-cart work addressed those recurring moments. Launch campaigns addressed a different moment: a product becoming available. Keeping those roles distinct made the programme easier to evaluate. A welcome sequence and a launch send serve different audiences and should not be judged as though they are interchangeable.
The September 2022 discussion with co-founder Mark Ritz also highlighted strong response to product announcements without a promotional offer. That was a strategic observation about this audience, rather than a controlled test. It suggested a useful question for future launches: can the product story itself make the next purchase compelling before a discount is introduced?
02 · THE WORK
The decisions behind the journey.
Refresh the core journeys
The historical account summary records new welcome and abandoned-cart flows in April 2022, followed by another flow and branding phase later that year.
Give launches a clear creative focus
The June product launch used animation and focused copy. The retrospective report attributes $15,740.27 to that campaign, alongside a second email introducing a team member.
Read the uneven months
Reported email revenue was approximately $81k in April, $78k in May, $79k in June, $64k in July and $133k in August. The subsequent months varied too. Campaign frequency and product availability changed during the period.
03 · THE OUTCOME
The figures, with their context.
The 14 April 2024 retrospective records the June launch result and the monthly progression shown here. The figures are historical platform-attributed revenue, not a new raw-data export, incremental revenue or profit. The sequence includes both stronger and weaker months and does not establish that email alone caused business growth.

THE BRAND TRAJECTORY
Growth made the launch calendar more consequential.
Thrivelia founder Trayan Hristov recalls Carnivore Snax at approximately $30k in monthly sales when our work began and later surpassing $500k a month. These are founder-reported whole-business milestones, rather than matched store exports or an email-attributed result. They give scale to the period without treating the difference as an outcome caused by one channel.
Independent accounts describe a broader brand built through community, product demand and production capacity. A later 2024 interview with co-founder Mark Ritz describes Joe Rogan becoming a customer after an Instagram conversation. It does not establish an ownership stake, and that development is not presented here as a Thrivelia result.
THE CREATIVE DECISION
Make the launch email earn the click.
The October 2022 chicken-slider brief shows what the work looked like in practice. Rather than list features alone, the launch copy opened with the idea of chicken as a once-prized food, rejected the familiar fried and processed versions, then made the new slider format tangible: regeneratively raised chicken, salt and a crunchy way to snack. The call to action stayed direct. Mark Ritz asked Thrivelia to handle the launch email while he took care of the other planned sends, so this example represents our specific contribution, not ownership of the entire sequence.
For a growing product business, the lesson is to pair a distinctive reason to care with a clear product explanation and one action. Evaluate each send against availability, audience and the surrounding campaign calendar. The $15,740 June campaign figure above remains the documented email result in this case study.
READING THE TRANSFORMATION
A launch result is a decision point.
The June launch demonstrates the value of connecting creative to a specific commercial moment. The welcome and cart work provided the recurring journeys; the launch gave the customer a new product to consider. The historical report supplies a campaign result that can be examined alongside both.
The surrounding months are useful because they show variability. A stronger August does not make the lower July irrelevant. For a similar brand, review which products were available, how many campaigns were sent and which customer groups received them before deciding what to repeat. Those questions turn a revenue chart into a working brief for the next launch.
WHAT TO APPLY
Take the lesson into your own programme.
Use a product launch to tell one clear story with one clear action. Review the campaign result alongside send volume, product availability and the surrounding months. A successful launch is useful evidence; it is not a guarantee of the next month’s performance.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THE WORK
What this case study shows.
What did the Carnivore Snax launch email achieve?
A retrospective report attributed $15,740 to a June 2022 Carnivore Snax launch campaign. The wider historical work combined lifecycle flows with focused product launches. This is campaign-attributed revenue from a specific historical send; it is not a claim about current performance, incremental profit or the entire business’s revenue growth.
Does attributed email revenue prove incremental profit?
No. Attribution assigns orders to a channel under a reporting model. It does not show how many orders would have happened without the messages. Assess the stated dates, baseline, channel overlap and wider store performance, then use margin data and suitable holdout tests when the decision requires an estimate of incremental profit.
