PupMD: Subscription Email Marketing Case Study
PupMD’s implementation connected welcome, checkout, payment and post-purchase messages to the events behind a subscription business.
Questions about the work
How should subscription emails use quiz answers and payment events?
PupMD’s July–September 2026 implementation and research connected customer context with checkout, payment and post-purchase messages. Paid orders, failed payments, pauses and cancellations called for different responses and destination links. Quiz research informed messaging, while proposed consumption-based replenishment remained a strategy principle. The case documents implementation, not proven financial or medical outcomes.
How is subscription retention different from repeat-purchase marketing?
Subscription communication needs to recognise renewal, payment failure, pause, cancellation and product-use context. A one-time buyer may need an invitation to subscribe, while an existing subscriber needs support for the commitment already made. Evaluate these journeys against subscription outcomes rather than treating every attributed recurring order as a newly created sale.
