Real Mushrooms: From the next email to a reusable foundation.

We helped Real Mushrooms turn client-supplied copy into email creative and usable templates. The work reached beyond promotional layouts into shipment communication, flow-template handover and the small production details that make an email ready to use.

Selected delivery records: April–November 2022. Email design and production; client-supplied copy.

Different messages. One recognisable brand.

Real Mushrooms sells functional mushroom supplements. Its email programme needed to accommodate product education and promotion, as well as the practical information customers need after ordering.

Our role was specific. An August 2022 scope record describes Real Mushrooms as a design engagement with copy supplied by the client. The client’s content and commercial direction remained theirs; our contribution centred on translating that material into email creative and supporting production.

The operational challenge was broader than making a single campaign look good. A sale email, a reusable flow template and a shipment notification each have a different job. The layouts needed to serve those jobs while remaining useful to the people building and approving the messages.

Can the next email make the one after it easier to produce?

Build around the shipment stage.

An April 2022 delivery record confirms that the shipment-picked-up email was updated. In May, the client asked to reuse the template with copy adapted for other shipment stages, including out for delivery and delivered. This is the distinction that matters: the visual foundation can stay consistent, while the information changes with the customer’s actual order status. Those later stages were requested work; the request alone does not prove every version went live.

Make the template usable in the account.

April messages place a Real Mushrooms template in Klaviyo and show the client asking for it in the correct brand account. In November, Trayan confirmed that the flow template was in Real Mushrooms’ Klaviyo account. That is a concrete handover milestone. It does not, by itself, prove every automation using the template had been activated.

Develop creative for different commercial moments.

The shared records include VIP-sale creative in June, a RealHerbs bundle campaign in September, flash-sale options later that month and Black Friday artwork in November. The bundle work went through client feedback and revision, and the Black Friday file received additional sections. These records document creative development and iteration; they do not establish a sales uplift from those assets.

Check readability as part of production.

In November 2022, Trayan recommended larger newsletter text: at least 16px, with a newer direction of 20px on desktop and 18px on mobile. It was practical advice for making the content easier to read. Earlier shipment discussions also called for the correct variables and destination links before release. Those were production checks to resolve, not evidence that every subsequent message passed every check.

Creative delivered. A foundation handed over.

The documented outputs include a revised shipment email, several promotional creative files and a flow template delivered into the brand’s Klaviyo account. The work combined individual design requests with reusable production foundations.

That matters because a template is useful beyond its first brief. Shipment-stage copy can change without treating each notification as a completely unrelated design project. A flow template can give the client a starting point for further automation work inside the platform where it will be used.

This case study makes a design and production claim. The available source material does not support a revenue comparison, conversion lift or a claim that Thrivelia owned Real Mushrooms’ entire retention strategy.

What to apply

Identify the job of the message before designing it. Shipment communication should make the order status and next action easy to understand.

Deliver the working foundation in the destination account. A shared design file and a usable platform template are separate handover steps.

Review text size, variables and links alongside the artwork. Visual approval is one part of production readiness, not the whole process.

Scope and evidence

Who supplied the copy for Real Mushrooms?

The client supplied the copy. Thrivelia’s documented role focused on email design and production, including promotional creative, shipment-email work and a Klaviyo flow-template handover.

What result is verified in this case study?

The records verify creative development and a flow template delivered into Real Mushrooms’ Klaviyo account in November 2022. They do not verify a revenue lift or the activation of every flow using that template.
